I haven't turned any boxes in a while. I turned a tool handle from some Persimmon I've had under my bench for a couple years and thought it would make a nice box. I got the sequence messed up and lost about 1/4" at the join, so the grain doesn't really match that well.:( 3 1/4" tall by 2" diameter.

Travis, neat shape haven't seen one like that nor have I seen a box made from Persimmon. Very nice.

Even though the grain isn't a perfect match, that is one seriously nice piece of wood with a great shape.

And there's a sequence to follow? That may be one of my problems:D

Nice box, Travis. You're gonna have Big Mike throwin' a fit now, you know? You remember Big Mike - the guy who doesn't do hollow forms? ;)

Travis, grain match or no, that is an astounding box. The figure of the wood and form of the box lend one to see it almost as a lovely piece of earthenware. Beautiful work.
