I was looking in Woodturning Design magazine at the next issue coming up and seen a spindle birdhouse that I though might fit in good with the craft show crowd. I am not a spindle turner as you can see I just winged this one if I do anymore I'm going to have to look at some spindle turnings for some help http://joetonich.forumup.us/images/smiles/icon_redface.gif
I used some Poplar shipping lumber for the spindle and Pine for the foot and the roof. It stands 39 1/2" tall the spindle is 3 1/4" wide and unfinished the roof and foot was painted black.

Really cool, Jim. I like it.

Question - Is the front door just a drilled hole? Or did'ja mount it outboard and hollow it out so some of our larger feathered friends can call it home? And if so, how loud was the helicopter?

Well done.:)

Jimbo, I think you have hit a home run. Get some of the little birdies that the ornament birdhouse turners put on their perches and oil up the cash register....:D

That is a really nifty idea, Jim. It should go great with the craft show crowd. Oh, and if you don't turn spindles now, I'd love to see what you create when you decide you've learned how! :)
