Well here is a maple box that the LOML designed. She told me how she wanted it and of course ya know I did everything she said.:eek: :D Anyway it is made for maple and is 2 7/8" across 4 1/2" high. It is finished in lacquer. The first and last pictures are of opposite sides. She is very happy with it.

When I first looked at it I thought you had turned some holly, but I reread the post and saw it was maple. Your wife is to be commended about how well she has you trained to take direction. This one is another beauty.

Thanks for the nice comments. Yea I really like turning that white maple. It turns like a dream. I got 7 more pieces to do and hoping to do some inlay with a few of them. She has it sitting on her dresser now.
