Here's one I have had drying for a month or so. About 6 1/2" wide by 4" tall.

I'm not too sure about the form, but the wood sure is purdy!<img=http:><img=http:><img=http:><img=http:><img=http:><img=http:><img=http:>

Comments and constructive criticism are always welcome. Desconstructive criticism will be tolerated if it's witty!

Very nice natural edge bowl Joe. I like the contrast in the heartwood /sapwood and then the NE. Nice job.

Joe, I actually like this form better than the more typical "wide mouth" NE forms...'just a personal preference. That's a nice piece of wood, too. Great job!

I like it A LOT!!!! Beautiful how the grain spins down toward the center, just like an ABYSS. You should enter this in Raymond's "Au Naturele" contest.

Joe, I have had the pleasure of turning a good bit of honey locust, but never any moraine locust. I never heard of it, but now I know what it looks like and I sure do like it. This is not only beautiful wood, but the NE you turned from it is exceptional. I see a few light patches on the top of the bark rim. I see this on mine from time to time and I take a magic marker pen brown or whatever as close to the bark color as I can find and touch up the bark that has been scraped or discolored in someway. I do this right before I add my spray lacquer. You might want to try this.

Love the wood. You did a great job of bringing out the best in the blank.

Joe great job! Looking down in that bowl makes you want to spin and get dizzy, that grain just sucks you in. Thanks for sharing!:)

What's not to like?

Mostly that you did it and not me.

Well done.

Joe,

I have tried digilantly to come up with any constructive criticsm. Hope!

Tried to be DESTRUCTIVE while being witty! Failed again.

As a container for delicious, cold, wonderful ICE CREAM, it is a WINNER!

Keep up the good work!

Joe, from what I see, I can't fault the work. The form and finish are well-executed. You have a great balance of lustre and natural look to the wood.

You guys are way too kind ;)

I think the form is too tall for the width. It's got a sharp curve at the bottom followed by long, straight sides.

I don't think it's ugly, I just think it could be a lot better.

Joe that is a very nice NE at first glance I too thought it might be to tall but after some thought I don't think that way. I like it just like it is. I think it would look very nice in the center of a table with any number of things in it. Will leave contents up to you.
