Well, I got some time to try some thing of a weed pot...

This is some wet wood, I have, neat stuff, turns white, but after a few minutes
it goes orange.

I do not know how this will work out, it is still fairly wet, so it may crack

Wet stuff don't sand too well...

Just a simple hole, no hollowing out, I don't have the tools....yet :D

Cheers!

Yep, that's what it was. Thanks. Can't even goto your home page. Here at work they have Panda Gate Defender which limits our access. Luckily I can still come to the Creek. When I work nights, I look forward to the rare poster like yourself. Otherwise rather slow on the Creek.
I like the form on the piece you're turning. Hope it works out for you and doesn't crack.

Hey, I've been called lots of things in my day, but never befor "Rare" ;) :D

I've been told that I smell......well let's not go there :D

I finished this little weed pot off, I sanded to #600 and waxed it, polished it up, and then cut the bottom off, looks good, the wife and the kids went "Cool" and relived me of it in seconds, so I guess that is a good thing.

Who knows if it cracks....

This is some strange wood, it is white when you turn it, and the main piece has stayed white, but the chips have gone ORANGE but a super BRIGHT orange....

Dunno why, I'll try to see if I can find out what wood it is, neat stuff...

Stu, I hope that doesn't crack or anything on you as it is a nice shape and size. That will be a pretty one. Weed pots are alot of fun and you can do alot with them.

Very nice, Stu. Great form and good job of turning. Orange chips? Doesn't sound like any wood I ever used.

That is a great looking weed pot Stu. If the kids and the wife got it then it must be ok. Nice job.

I too have a filter at work that prohibits my access to your web site. I think its great when you post thumbnails on SMC or other sites. they let me keep up with all your cool stuff.
Thanks,
Bill

OK Bill, I'll try to do that for you and others in the same fix.

The thing I find is that if I just attach them, then I don't get around to updating my site much..... :o

Cheers!
