Goblet and Box

Well here are a couple of things I turned this 4th of July. The first is a little box which is 1 1/2" across and 2 1/4" tall. The top is inlayed with purpleheart. The other is a goblet of walnut/ash. It is 3 1/4" across the cup and 6 3/4" tall. I made this for my BIL because he is always trying to steal my first one for his china cabinet. So I made him one. I am going to sneak it into his cabinet and see how long it takes him to see it. Both are finished with Waterlox. What do you think?

Love the shine on the goblet, it looks very nice done that way. I'll have to look into waterlox cause with those results they look wonderful.

Those are just killer Bernie. Very nice. The Goblet is beautiful and I like everything about the box, the finish, the beads, the cabachon. Great work bernie!

Thanks for the comments. They little box with the inlay was a lot of fun. I am going to be doing more. The ash by the way came via Corey Hallagan. The goblet is probably the best I have did especially since most of the outside was all skew work.

By the way here is a better picture of the top of the box. I took another with more light.
