Here is what came of a small elm burl that I picked up at my candy store last week when I took Joe, his two boys and Travis to see where I use to get most of my flat wood.
It finished up at 6" x 3" and the finish I used is Tung Oil and Carnuba Wax on the lathe.
Thanks for looking

YOWZA! What a nice piece of wood. The form really does the wood justice. And I love the understated finish. Home run :)
The only suggestion I could offer is to crop your pictures a little closer, and really let the bowl be the star of the show.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I called today to make sure they still had some more of this elm that I saw and that someone put back after carrying it around with them.
She said they did but also they have a large section of this burl still uncut. So they are going to save that large piece and not cut it up. I hope to pick it up next week along with some of the other smaller pieces.:D
Thanks again for the nice comments.;)
