Has anybody heard about a new biscuit joiner from Bosch? The reason for my question is that Bosch is now selling biscuits along with PC at my local Lowes store. Why would they sell biscuits for a PC or Dewalt joiner? Pretty small potatoes item to mess with with no joiner availability!

I've always bought pc biscuits, mainly as they can be bought for 19.99 per 1000 if you do some shopping.
I would imagine the same company makes all of them, then the biggies resell them under their name.
And maybe Bosch is coming out with a joiner. Should be a good one if compared to their jigsaws. Steve

Steve,
I looked at the Bosch biscuits, a different company makes them I think. They have a different appearance and don't have the cracks that I frequently run into with the PC ones. It appears the quality may be better.

Hmmm. Better quality is good. You happen to get a price? Steve

About the same as PC as I recall, maybe a few cents more or less. But it appears you won't have as many discards!

I'll check Woodworkers Supply to see if they are carrying them yet. Thats who I usually buy pc from. Though I think I just bought a big box a few months ago. Steve

Hi Gene,
Bosch already makes biscuit joiners but apparently they are not available in the US.

Although I can't read the German, the pictures look like it ought to be a good tool. Wonder if it will ever make it over here? Steve

Well, I never used one of these tools so I can't really comment on them. I know, reviews don't always tell the truth but according to a review which was published a few years ago the Bosch biscuit joiner is a solid machine but not really outstanding. Lamello, Mafell, Kress and Atlas Copco were the favorites.
The Bosch GUF 4-22A isn't really a bisuit joiner, it's a multi function tool: biscuit joiner and shadow joint cutter.

Hi Christian,
The Skil biscuit joiner is sold in the US, it may well be the same product with a different color case.

Hi Gene,
I found two Skil biscuit joiners:
- 1820 A
http://www.skileurope.com/tools/tools.asp?region=5&charset=windows-1252&category=46&model=F015+1820+A1
- HD 1605 (I found it on http://www.epinions.com/hmgd-Tools-Hand_Power-Biscuit_Joiners-Skil-Skil_Model_Hd1605_Plate_Joiner# but not on the Skil USA website).
Both BJ use a different fence design than the Bosch.
Regards,
Christian
