I've been away from the lathe for a few weeks on vacation and other responsibilities, I had to make a run to Woodcraft last Friday and was looking over their bowl blanks. I saw one that was Ambrosia Maple and just knew I had to turn it into a bowl.

Of course as soon as I brought it into the house it was "confiscated" into the wifes collection....as I always say, "happy wife....happy life"

Thanks for looking.

Love that AM, Steve! And if you're wife loves it then there's no need for us to tell you it's a great bowl! Nice work...

Nice job. Good form with a just enough detail to make it interesting without detracting from the figure in the wood.

Good to see the events of the last couple of days have not deterred you from spinning. :) Mighty fine looking bowl.

Steve I have always been told that when you give someone a gift for holding money you are supposed to 'seed' said gift. Go ahead and put some cash in there and watch it grow.:D

Okay, let me clarify something... I bought this lathe for my son...it is and always will be his. However he has no support tools yet...i.e. grinder, drill press, bandsaw, etc. so when he says he wants it at his place, I'll be more than happy to help him load it. But as he said..."Can I just leave it here and use your other tools?...it also gives me a real good reason to hang out in the shop if it is at your shop"....so until he is ready for it I'll keep it here and surely be more than happy to use it.....when it leaves my shop
