My year in turning - bottle toppers

I couldn’t afford the time or the wood for bowls after Christmas so I tried my hand with bottle toppers. Left to right: a poplar/maple combo, red palm, and then redwood lace burl. Didn’t like the red palm as turning it was like trying to turn celery, the strings would fall out and the back side doesn’t look that nice. The redwood was soft as could be and has a lot of intetesting figures, but the most fun was the poplar/maple just because it was my first attempt at gluing different woods and turning.

Wayne those are some nice looking stoppers. What kind of finish did you use on your bowls and these stoppers? Nice job.
