That's right Oak again...I really do have other wood. This is a small vase 4" X 3 1/8", Danish Oil and Waxed. It has a mild spalting to it. Actually it had a nice lip on it until I launched it while trying to finish the bottom.:(

Nice piece, Chris! That Oak certainly does have a lot of character to it! :) You're a better man than me; I have a terrible time with Oak. :o (That and Maple and Buckeye and Cherry and Walnut, and, and.....:rolleyes: ) Good job! :) :cool:

Chris, I like that rugged sorta look/form. Nice job. I tell ya, this oak turning should have you prepared for any kind of wood.

Chris, that's another oaken beauty. A classic form linked with wood that naturally looks a bit distressed---gorgeous!
