This is another piece turned from the same Cottonwood tree as the bowl. This is crotch wood with some really different feathering in the grain. It's about 6.5" wide and 6" tall. Picture shows both sides.

Curt that is beautiful. I like the form and figure in that wood. I guess with all the dead cottonwoods we have around here I better get started looking. I never thought to try dry. Alway looking green. How does it turn dry Curt?

That is some nice figure in there. Nice job Curt. I really like the treatment around the opening.

So, I need to kill the tree, let it stand for a few years, and then cut it down. No problem.:rolleyes:

Curt, that's fabulous work. Like Corey said, it looks a lot like marble. Absolutely beautiful.

Oh come on, Curt...That ain't no wood! Looks to be some type of marble!!! :eek: That's just got to be one of the most beautiful pieces of wood I've laid eyes on and the form and finish is 1st class, all the way! A+++++++, my friend! :D Stunning! :) :cool:
