Can anyone explain what this means? I see it on European tablesaw specs. Thanks

There are two styles of sliding tables for the Euro saws. One were the table top is similar to an American saw and the sliding table is around four inches to the left of the blade instead of a left extension table. The other style, "format", has the sliding table right next to the blade.

Just throwing out another idea. Have you seen the "SawStop" cabinet saw? Go to this site Saw Stop (http://www.sawstop.com) and check out the high speed video on this thing. Pretty neat stuff. It doesn't have a sliding table but it does have the european style riving knife. Good luck with all the choices.
