Well are you guys bored with this yet? Anyhow I was off today so of course I was in the shop. I pretty much finished the birds nest and also made the cleats that will attach the birds nest to the underside of the table. I think I must have been standing too close when I took this picture as it is pretty washed out. The columns are glued into the base but not the top as I think I am going to apply finish to this disassembled. As you can see I decided to turn the bottom of the birds nest round and did some light beading on it. The assembly is just sitting on the main spindle here.

I had some reservations about posting this one as it is such a bad picture and really kills the details but oh well. Tomorrow I make the pins and mount them into the upper plate on the birds nest and I should also have the cleats completely finished. Then I start on the legs and man that is going to take me awhile!
