How do I remove the lid of a Festool systainer?

Derek,

I would think there must be some pins in the hinges. If so, they can probably be pushed out somehow.

Open the cover and you will see the hinge pins at the corners. Take a needlenose pliers and grapsp the pin close to the cover's hingee loop (toward the inside). Then pry outward using the cover's loop as a leverage point. The pin will move easily for about 1/8 inch until the retaining tabs get to the cover's loop. With a little more effort, pry it out the rest of the way. If you grasp it from the outside flange, you can get more leverage, but be careful not to marr the flange.
