For some very low value of "hollow": the Sorby Hollowmaster I got for my birthday hasn't learned who the Boss is around here yet, and I didn't want to risk buggering up this piece teaching it.

Form inspired by Horst Hohoff's 'Ripplemarks' (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=38725), just way too neat a shape, couldn't resist taking a stab at it. :p Mine's a lot smaller: 5-3/4"x1-3/4".

Finish is the usual seal/buff/wax...good news is, it polished up really shiny...bad news is, it polished up really shiny: there's some great figure on the lower sides under those reflections, trust me.

Sweet looking hollowform, Lee. The banding of the figure makes it almost look like a laminated piece. I really like the way the form shows it off.

Have fun teaching that Hollowmaster! :)

Great job, Lee. Real pretty piece of wood, and nice work on the form. (Even if it is borrowed. I'm sure Horst wasn't the first to use it. ;) )

Wow, Lee, that is a fine piece of work. How thin did you get that piece? Nicely done!

How thin did you get that piece? Not very: one of the nice things about this shape is, if you get the rim of the hole thin, it looks like the interior goes all the way back. It doesn't. :p

I played with the Hollowmaster a little bit and then decided, "Don't get greedy!"

That's a real pretty piece. I like that shape.

When you get that Hollowmaster broken in and following orders let me know how you did it. Mine still bucks me off everytime I try to use it.
