Ain't it awesome what a little oil squeezed out of a flax plan will do to Mahogany?
I made this artwork frame today for a client. If they like it, there will be 13 more. Not too complex: 25" tall and 19" wide. The frame in the 1st photo is just prior to oiling (same corner in both photos). The second photo is oiled and wiped off. The center panel in the second photo is 1/4" Mahogany ply made black via a black toner and clear lacquer. In the morning, after the oil gets a full day to dry out more, I'll lacquer the frame too.
That oil really pops the grain.
