Can anyone recommend a drilling jig or device to drill blum hinges? I have seen a device that you can hook on a door and use your drill to drill pilot holes and the 35mm hole for a blum hinge, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks.

I think you're referring to the Blum Ecodrill. Haven't used it, but it looks cool. Specialty Supplies has it for $225. http://www.specialtysupplies.com/blum-ecodrill-p-4683.html

I just use my drill press. I have a drill press table made from scrap plywood and it has a fence on it. I set it to the bore distance set by Blum for that hinge. I set a combination square for the distance down on the door from the top and bottom and mark it there. Then I just put it on the DP and start drilling. Depth is handled with the depth stop on the drill press. I can go through a pile of doors pretty quick.

Hope that helps.

I use the Rockler jig....very good and it maintains the spacing between hinges

I bought a plastic jig when I bought the 35mm forstner drill and Home Depot, yes Home Depot. I found them in around the drawer handles and drawer glides.

I really like the Rockler "Concealed Hinge Multi-tool Jig-It" kit like Mark mentioned. I could be a little less expensive but I like it nonetheless. I would definately buy it again. Get the extra 48" rail as well for longer doors. It's VERY handy. :D
