Now I just have to get a bench grinder to keep my tools sharp. My wife is already making a list of theings she wants me to make.:)

Great looking pens Jeff. A good sharpening system will make a big difference for you. Sharp tools are a must. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Jeff you definately have the hang of it. Those are some mighty fine pens. Yea be careful. I can speak from experience that if you make them one thing watch out. The list gets longer than a honey-do list. :p

I have to get some of that. I got lucky, looked like it and then again you are in prime Mesquite country :) Nice job, the list will only get longer!.

Nice pens!

I made up a bunch of them, and I've only got one left, the first one I did, which I screwed up, so I won't give it away.

My lovely wife claimed one and then she gives them away all the time.

I guess I have to order another set of kits.

BTW, do the ink inserts only come in blue?

Black is the color of choice here in Japan.

Cheers!

Stu you can get refills in Blue --Red--- Black from PSI.
I am sure there are other places that's just the one that comes to mind.

Beauty-full pens!

Now I just have to get a bench grinder to keep my tools sharp. In the meantime, you can use a hone to touch up your edges. I use a diamond hone between sharpenings - just a few quick swipes are usually enough - and it reduces how often I have to grind.

My wife is already making a list of theings she wants me to make.:) I'll never forget what my wife said to me when I brought in one of the small bowls I was making on my ShopSmith.

It's really nice honey, but can't you make bigger ones?
I had my General 25-650 in the garage a few short weeks later :D "Yes, dear!"

Stu, I don't think I have ever gotten anything but black with my kits. And that's a variety of styles from different sources. Dunno why you would be getting blue. (refills, that is ;) )

Frank, I got the kits from Lee Valley, they are all blue, I don't mind, but my wife commented on the color, saying that black is the color of choice.

Cheers!

Terrific job Jeff. I'm looking forward to trying my hand at the first style myself. I'll be happy if it turns out anywhere near as well as yours did.
