A maple dish/bowl froma board end cutoff. 6 inch diameter, inch and a half high. Waterlox finish.

A little vase type thing froma piece of ash i got from John Hart. Inch and a half round. two and a half high. Just buffed.

Rich they look good. They sure look bigger in the picture. I like the vase. Nice job on both.

Rich, that's yet more great work. Is the vase completely hollowed, and if so, what tooling did you use?

The vase was drilled out with a forstner bit and then I semi-hollowed the bottom portion with a tool I made out of a piece of square aluminum stock from Ace Hardware with a sharpened nail sticking out of a hole in the end. I don't have the pictures on my computer anymore but if you're interested I did post them some time back. A search could probably find them. They were copys of some I saw Grumbine make.
