I got some wood in a grab bag from ebay. I am thinking this must be persimmon or kiwi as the wood came unmarked and the other stuff I was able to figure out. (I think) I did this from memory from the tutorial I saw posted here.

It is about 8 inches long and 4 wide. About 1 inch thick. Finish is spray on Ace hardware lacquer.

Very nice Rich!
I should try one myself but I'm not sure I'm ready
to have a propeller spinning my shop! Must be something.

Rich that is awesome looking. I think I will wait and watch Bill's video then maybe attempt one. Nice job.

Looking good Rich! Did it scare the H out of you to have that thing spinning on the lathe? Nice work.

Very nice. I'll have to try that when I get a little more experience under my belt.

Very nice, Rich. I especially like the way the rim of the bowl floats up out of the surrounding surface. Is that a filled hole in the back in pic 3? What did you fill it with?

Cool, Rich. I like it. I doubt I'd be able to do anything similar on my little Wilton, but man is that ever nifty.

very nice, now you are ready for a larger one, or a double bowl.
They do sometimes get scary

Thank you all for your kind words. It is not as scary as I thought it would be to have that propeller spinning on the lathe. You KNOW if you touch it wrong it's going to hurt so you don't.

Gary, nothing is filled on this piece. That hole is just a hole with the background showing through.

Sasha, I have followed your work for quite a while and I only hope to someday be able to do anything that compares to your art. You are truly an artist.

Thanks again for looking.
