As requested, a photo of my first veneer press.
Up until a week ago I had never had any use for such a press so
I am making do for now. Plans are in place for a clamp driven press
that I actually think will be pretty cool when I get it built this week.
I haven't ventured the vacuum root just yet as I happened to have a lot of the parts already lying around to make my mechanical press Gen II and I have not wanted to invest the time just yet (and of course buying it outright is not an option when I can built it myself for 10% more money).

Ed-

Yes... that is truly a genuine innovative solution to the problem at hand... I would also like to see GEN II as at some point (not sure how long) I would like to get into the marquetry game also.

Man Ed, That is the new model 5000, with the power drive option!!! I have the older model with the hand crank! Hehehee:D

The power drive option was an aftermarket installation. 160 cranks to raise
it up all the way was a bit much!

My wife said it reminded her of a mammogram machine!
