I'd been splittig the crotches, but I decided to chuck this one up in one piece and turn with the pith in it. It's about 10" x 3" and finished with lacquer. I just left the cut edges rough from the chain saw. Thanks for looking.

Man that is sweet. Love the shape you ended up with on this and the rough hewn edge looks great with it. Beautiful.

Awesome natural edge Ernie. Nice choice of wood and great execution. I'd suggest putting a pic of that in the challenge thread.

This is piece of beauty is only possible because someone tried something new based on the acquisition of learned skills. Mesquite was a great piece of wood to try this with because it worked so nice.

Great job. Love the way you kept the natural edge along with the chain saw marks. I have a piece of apple crotch that might look good in a similar form. Thanks for the innovative ideas.

I'd been splittig the crotches You may want to try pants with a fuller cut in the seat.

Oh wait, you're talking about the mesquite?? Beautiful bowl :) I'm a huge fan of natural edges, and that's just a great piece of work there.
