Pecan, 13 1/2", Finished with wipe-on polly and waxed. Always something new to learn. Went to complete the finish this morning and the BIG WARP had started. Not too bad at this point so I hope it is close to complete.:( Ernie, this was the flat pith cut-out piece.

That is a beautiful platter Chris. Lots of nice figure and color. Sorry to hear about the warp. I hear it happens with wood sometimes:D :eek: . Excellent job on the first one. Looking forward to the next and the next...

Chris..........I really like that platter....form, finish and the patterned wood! Hope that warp thing stabilizes!

That's a nice platter Chris.

About the warping, did you soak it in DNA and let it dry? How long did it dry before you started turning? It just seems pretty quick.

Did the warping happen on the end where all the figuring is? Or across the middle - where the pith was/would have been? Just curious since I've had the same warping experience.
