I know it's a long time until Christmas so I apologize for rushing the season. But this is a Christmas ornament I made last weekend from some walnut and a sea urchin shell. This isn't my idea, I saw these somewhere on the internet. But if you can get your hands on some of these shells (i got these on ebay) they make a different looking ornament. To keep the spindle straight and to make the ornament more sturdy it's best to drill a hole in the top and leave a long tenon on the bottom to glue them together. The shells are fragile like eggshells. I tried gluing the wood parts to the shell but it broke.

Curt I like it very nice for Christmas. You aren't that much earlier than the stores usually are. I think it's a great time to start.:)
