Mark Cothren sent me this hackberry which is spalted but still very solid and turns wonderfully. Shortly after receiving the stick he sent intended for boxes it began to split unmercifully. In order to save it I cut it up into smaller pieces cutting out all the cracks. I have been turning the small pieces into ort bowls for the LOML.

This one is 2" tall and 3" in diameter. Thanks for looking.

Hey Big Mike,
Will you please quit this turning avocation and pay more attention to your day job, before I begin calling you a genius and an artist???

Very pretty Big Mike.....I, myself have fallen in love with turning Hackberry. Left outside or in the shop for a few months can yield some very nice spalting and color variations in the wood. Super job on this ort form there Big Mike....excellent finish as well. :D

Big Mike,
Excellent Form and finish. Without the size given, looks like a much larger bowl. By any chance to you have the web address where your wife found "the other guy" that has these advertised at $60+?
Again, really like your work.

Well, no wonder you can turn these out so fast: you left off the insert with the velvet pincushion thingie.

Slacker!:D :p Maybe you better just give up and call them "hollowforms".
