I saw this idea in one of the trade rags. Someone has made a nice commercially available version. This one is just a #12 'L bend hook' (smaller than a #12 screw [?]) that just happens to be 3/32" to match my thin kerf blade.
I fitted it to a shop made ZCI. There is a block of oak laminated to the underside of the insert to give it some meat to fasten into. There is enough threads to allow some reasonable height adjustment.
