Started both of these before the trip.

Number 1 is Spalted Cherry and has very interesting figure to it. The finish is French polish, then buffed and waxed with the beal system. 2-1/2 X 6-1/8" with 5/16" walls.

Number 2 is White Mahogany from Malaysia. I turned it during a class I taught on bowl turning. It was green. 1-1/2" X 5-1/4" X5-1/2" finished. Wall thickness below the rim is 1/8". As you can see, it warped quite a bit. I wiped it with Watco oil, let it set for a month and then finished it by buffing it with a beal system.

The spalted cherry has a very fine manly look to it. I like it. White mahogany, huh, where did you come by that Bruce?

For Michael.

We got a container load in (Ship container, that is) at Woodcraft, Peoria. It was supposed to be Mahogany, as in the redish/brown we're familiar with around here, to be sold for flooring. Turned well, but not a lot of figure.

Bruce that cherry is awsome, great figure but I got to say that White mahogany has a certain appeal to it also. Nice work.

Good work, I really like this Spalted Cherry. Did you have to do anything special to it?
