Got this piece of Cherry from my exchange partner, It had
what looked like a dark inclusion on one end but it ended
up going all the way thru the blank. Roughed it out, soaked with
CA, then semi finish turned to I think will be as far as I go. It will
make a good utility bowl in the shop to hold screws & such.

Looks good Mike. I have a cherry bowl with the same problem except mine looks like a smiley face. You did a good job Mike.

Good looking bowl, Mike. 'Twere it me, I'd go ahead and do the full finish turning and treatment on it, just to see what it looks like after all is said and done. Looks to me like it would be very pretty!

Henry, I would like to finish it properly but that dark line is really wide
and only being held together with CA (alot) I did put some oil on it
just to seal it but I'm happy with a rough cherry utility bowl.....I
didn't have a cherry one until now ;) .

You would like to see me post the pics of the pieces wouldn't you...:) .

Mike....I'd thin some clear epoxy with a little alcohol, tape the outside of the bowl with masking tape, fill the crack and finish it after the epoxy cures. You could also color the epoxy with sanding dust from the bowl first and it would blend in a bit. Heck....I'd finish it just to see what it'd look like. :confused: :D

Nice job Mike. Too bad that crack is so big. It looks like it almost goes all the way around.:eek:

That looks like a pretty cherry bowl to me! Some nice grain. Great job.
