This was a learning experience for me. This box was inspired by a picture Mac posted as a Gentleman’s Box. I have a way to go but for 1st try I think it came out pretty good. It is to be a Father's Day present. Any critique is welcome as I do want to learn and get better. Thanks for looking. PS: Ingnore the date on photos, camera date is off.

They look great!

I prefer to make the pins narrower, but that's all preference. The joints look nicely done, and fit well. I'm not sure what type of critique you're looking for, I'm more willing to offer praise. :p :D

It's nice to have the pins narrower than a power tool CAN make them, but i think they're fine on this piece. I personally don't like super-narrow pins, though.

That's a great job for first dovetails - they look a lot better than my first efforts. I don't mean this as a critique, especially of your first effort at dovetails, but when I make boxes, I prefer to use half blind dovetails so that they don't show on the front. This is strictly personal preference, however.

Great job. You definitely have the "knack" for hand work.

Nice Tails
I know when I did my first tails I made a box for my Brother this past Christmas. It was a 18 x 20 x 18 high chest and it was a blast to make, hope you had as much fun as I had.

Great Job
