Modified Guard w/Splitter

Here are some pictures of the modification I did to the Brett Guard after installing the Biesemeyer splitter. I realized this is one of those things you just have to go after and "get er done!" I removed a section on the rear of the guard on my band saw and will add a flat piece of Styrene (?) to it this evening. I don't think I or anyone would reach around the back of the guard and into the blade, but better safe than sorry. I ripped some small sections of plywood and a piece of hardwood using this setup. All the work and worry seem to have paid off. Smooth cut, no binding on the splitter etc. After ripping I put on the Freud Dado set and did a few passes. Again a smooth cut with no problems.

Nice mod.
Another mod that I would do right away is remove those warning decals.
IMO, it is less dangerous to see what I'm doing than to have my view blocked by a warning label.
