So I was just looking at Lou's Tall Case Clock before firing
this thread up and, man, gives me a touch of an inferiority
complex!!!:D

But, alas, I'll suck it up and post these anyway....

Cherry, birdseye and walnut buffet. BLO/turp/urethane
with wax on the top. The drawers HAD some nice hand-cut
dovetails:( ; next time I'll apply the beading BEFORE cutting
them!! DOH!!

Hunter,

Fine work and as Ken already stated the finish came out wonderful. I am envious in that you can finish a project with only 1 Doh!!

Beautiful work, Hunter. That's my favorite combination- maple and cherry. Very well done.

Very, very nice!! .....gorgeous

I love birds-eye with cherry, and the black walnut goes with the two just as well, I'll have to try that in the future. Thanks for the inspiration.

Very nice job of design and execution. To show off the dovetails, just make the beading small so it does not cover them up.

Hunter,

That is a beauty!! Excellent work.........you've got a winner!!!

Is that a little suspended shelf in the back (on top)???

Very nice. Pity I didn't save the napkin from tonight's dinner -- I was sketching something remarkably similar and was going to have another go at SketchUp to see how it looked.

Hunter,
John has the cockbeading pegged. Here are a couple of diff. drawers where the beading is held narrow. In the true traditional beading, the top and bottom of the drawer fronts would be fully beaded, and the sides would be beaded back just a drop into the pins, using a stop miter for the corner joints. Beading was originally used to protect the edges of veneer on drawerfronts, I have oft read.

Nice work.
