I just completed a blanket chest for my wife. I saw the plan in a magazine and thought I would surprise her with it. It took me about seven months because I got side tracked into making a gavel for a friend...which I never used a lathe and then I was hooked.
Back to the blanket chest.
It is made of pine and the measurements are 4' L X 29" H X 24" D
kinda big but my wife is into quilting so she should fill it up qiuckly.
I lined the inside with cedar and both draws are 24"w X 20" D

Ron,
Can't think of a better present for a quilter! It looks great - and should smell good too.:)

Nice! How did you adhere the ceder; glue, nail? How thick is it?
Thanks

Ron, very nice chest. I hope my wife does not see this as I am still making more firewood than actual projects at this point. I am glad to see that you can use pine to make something as great looking as your chest. I wood rather use pine as I am learning this great craft of woodworking.
