This is the latest turning project just completed.
It a chunk of one of the cherry burls a friend gave me a couple of years ago. The diameter is about 9 inches. The finish is Watco Lacquer sprayed with an HVLP. I filled the crack with epoxy and sanding dust from the turning. The Bottom was left kinda thick because of the soft bark.

Beautiful wood and the crack certainly does nothing to detract from it. great work.

Beautiful piece Garry. I had a cherry one with a crack and I did the same thing. Epoxy and sanding dust. Worked great. That is a great job.
