Tropical in WA - Bonsai Pic

No, we can't grow Hibiscus in the garden here, but we can make a bonsai out of them. This was a potted plant that turned out to be 3 rooted cuttings, so I turned it into a group planting of 3 trees. On 8" trees that
big bloom looks that much bigger.

Creative! That almost looks mutant with such a large bloom on those tiny stalks!

Hibiscus are one of our favorites. We're luck enough to have them here year round outside.

Thanks for that pic, it confirms that I have some reduction in leaf size on my bonsais. I have made them to look like some we saw in a garden in Hawaii a couple of years ago, but those were over 5' tall.

Yeah, your leaves are certainly smaller than those on our plants. I'm surprised you get blooms though. Ours don't bloom until they're covered in leaves. Interesting what you can train plants to do...
