View Full Version : Delta Hybrid and outfeed table?

Been looking at posts on outfeed tables and between them, and boards falling off the back of my saw when cutting, I've decided to add a side and rear extension to the saw.
The extension on the left side shouldn't be a problem, but going off the rear of the Hybrid saw there's a piece of angle iron that runs the width of the saw.
It looks like its for support of the tables and it probably needs to stay, but
just wondering, do you replace that piece of angle iron with something else, or do you just work around it, which is doable, but kinda a pain?

My Unisaw with a Unifence didn't come with an angle iron along the back side, so I had to add one to add more support and to anchor the outfeed table.

The photo attached shows how the outfeed table is connected to the saw. You can see more photos of my outfeed table here (http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/hoa_dinh@sbcglobal.net/album?.dir=403a&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/hoa_dinh@sbcglobal.net/my_photos) if you are interested.

Thanks, Jim.

About a year ago, on the encouragement of Ellis Walentine (WoodCentral), I wrote a little article on the outfeed table design and submitted to Wood Mag. I received a message from them that someone had done that before I did. Out of curiosity, I search but have found no design like mine. Maybe I haven't searched well enough....

Thanks guys, I like the set up Hoa has, and will pattern one something similar to that, maybe a little less involved.

Unfortunately like everything else, the saw needs to be mobile, so simple is good in this case.

Bummer on the article submission...perhaps another publication will enjoy it. And Ellis is "almost" a neighbor...about 25 miles north of her. Very nice guy...I hope to see him at the Five Barns Picnic at Bill Grumbine's on 21 July.
