View Full Version : Fat-Bottomed... Uh... Goblets! Yeah, that's it!

This goblet was an attempt at a coffee-mug sized piece. It was made from the flying dunno wood. :) Sanded to 600, finished with 1 coat of sanding sealer and 3 coats of poly, rubbed with 600 grit between coats.

Thanks, folks for the kind commentary! I appreciate all the feedback given on this forum.
For Stephen: I'm fairly certain the wood is not Juniper; I'm starting to think it's some sort of Cherry. The tree was deciduous, it had fruit and leaves that vaguely resembled Cherry, and when cut seems to give off a pleasantly sweet scent. The coloration and grain pattern in the darker segment also resembles other bits of Cherry which I have seen. Without a firm identification, however, I'm still going to call it Dunno. :)
