turning tools

Just got a new rikon lathe and i will need a few bowl turning tools. I have
several spindle tools about 15 to be exact. I have been told that all i need
is a 3/8" bowl guage. I plan to make my own handles so what i need are
just the tool. Any info would be helpful.

Byron I would get a 3/8" and 1/2" bowl gouge with a Irish, Ellsworth, or Celtic grind on them. From what I have seen they are about the same grind. I would get a catalog plus you can go the website from Craft USA as they have P & N or Henry Taylor unhandled. I have been turning now for 6 months or so and have made a few bowls. I use my 1/2" to hog out the wood and the 3/8" with a good egde for the finer cuts. Hope this helps.
