The poker table I have been working on slowly for about 2 months is done. Its 8 sided and is about 60" across so each player at the table has a lot of room. I used transtint stain and Behlam table varnish. I built this for a friend who bought the base a long time ago from an unfinished furniture place. The center is microsuede.

I believe it was brown mahoghany, but i wouldnt quote me on that.
The base of this thing was made out of a soft wood and it absorbed the stain and the varnish like crazy. I put three coats of the varnish on it and it was still soaking in on some sections of it.
