Plywood Prices

Tomorrow I will be picking up a supply of hardwood veneer plywood. I was just wondering what current prices are in different areas for 1/4 and 3/4 oak, and 1/4" Maple.

I just bought 3 sheets of ¼" Birch ply @ Home Depot for $19.95. Then, the next day, at my regular supplier, I got the same thing for $17.50. I went back to HD, returned the 3 sheets, got the competitive discount, minus 10%, and rebought the 3 sheets.

On a similar note, Home Depot prices for 1"X6"x8' S4S poplar are $16.49. At my hardwood supplier, the same board is $10.00. I needed some more boards, took my hardwood supplier receipt to HD and they matched the price of $10.00. I saved $6.49 a piece for 7 boards. (Although, the quality of the "S4S"ing of the HD boards was not as good as my regular supplier, but, I did save about 2 hours of driving)

Oak is a bit overpriced @ HD too.

Here is what I found yesterday

1/4 Birch A4 $27.05
1/4 Red Oak A4 $23.98
3/4 Red Oak A1 $46.75

All plywood is excellent quality. Much better than both local big boxes and our local full service lumber yard. The 3/4 is stamped Columbia Canada on the side. They offer somewhere around a $2.00 per sheeet discount for orders over 50 sheets of combined types of plywoods.
