I'm looking at a Jet JWP 15CS floor model planer in good condition with an extra set of knives for $550 supposed to be 3 1/2 yrs old. Is that about right for a price. Thanks

I have that same planer. Mine was a floor demo(unused). It was supposed to be about $1100.00 at the time. I walked out of the door with mine for about $800 due to various promos, and the discount for the floor model.

I guess the question is, would I pay $550.00 for my planer? The answer is yes depending on the condition. Grizzly's G0453 is essentially the same planer for $775 new, as a comparison.

It's a nice planer. I haven't had any problems with mine.

lewis, i think you`ll be much better off with the used jet than a new dewalt lunchbox for the same money...02 tod

Lewis, at half of the going price for a new one, I’d say it’s a good deal, particularly if it is in good condition. It is essentially the same machine as my Powermatic 15” which I consider a good machine.

15" grizzly planner $775 and freight. This makes price around $900. So used jet is about half and available INSTANTLY. I just paid $600 for used Delta 15" with extra set of blades.

Lewis,
No thats a real bad price. Tell me where it's at and I'll make sure no one gets ripped off with this useless piece of Cr@P..:D

I have that same machine and have put several thousand feet of pine and oak through it with no problems. I would jump on that deal. Remember, "he who hesitates is lost".

I've been looking at used 15" planers. Found a few powermatics (on that auction site) most sell for $850.00-$950.00. Personally I think 500.00 is a great deal.
