An RSS feed, quoting SMC FAQ, “... allows you to view newly created threads in guest viewable forums without visiting the board.” In other words, you don’t need to visit SMC web site to read the latest posts. Search for RSS in the SMC FAQ.
Also, Rockler http://www.rockler.com/blog/index.cfm (http://www.rockler.com/blog/index.cfm) and possibly other WW sites have RSS capability. Of course, Rockler is using RSS for promotion, but there is useful information and worth a look.
RSS is great for reading news, AP, BBC, CNN and the news from many, many other news web sites is available. I have about 75 on my list. It is a concise and fast way to read the news.
You do need a news-reader. Mac OS10 users should have RSS under preferences in the Safari browser. Windows users can download a free RSS news-reader. Try http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10088_7-5143656.html?tag=rss for downloads and more RSS info.
If you know of any WW RSS sites please post them.
