Chopped some mortise and tenons this morning for a rack to hold my wood cramps in my trailer and dug this out for a picture while I was installing it.

I have two of these toys, grooved and tongued joints and glued, no pins, nails or screws.

This is a most interesting joint. looks like it's slotted to allow the tenon to slide in?

Oh, I understand now, both the tongues run all the way through, and the ends are notched, I like that, very nice.

just an easy means to keep everything in line Alan, at times there is a lot of pressure on the outside lips when it is clamped in place, and it must maintain exactly 90° in use. It doesn't show but the corner is waxed aways back from the point on both sides to keep glue from sticking to it.
