This is a natural edge goblet turned from a piece of Dogwood. It's about 7" tall and has two interlocked captured rings that I cut a small groove in to fancy them up a little.

Curt, that sure is a pretty goblet you have there. What was the width of branch you used?

That's really cool Curt!

A question...does the pith run thru the stem or do you need to find a branch with an off-center one and then turn the pith out of it? (sorry, couldn't resist.) Just wondering how the stem don't split...

Very nice, Curt. I may have to go check out our dogwoods to see if some of them need "trimming"

Definately cool and definately double NE. I'll have to start looking at branches differently.

Thanks everyone.

Ken, the finish is Deft spray lacquer. Not my overall favorite but it dries fast, you can get a couple coats in an hour.

Henry, the log was about 2 1/2" diameter but not very round. The bark at the top and bottom show the log size.

Joe the pith ran through the center. In one spot it crosses the stem but it was a dry piece of wood and the pith was as hard as the rest of the wood. The dogwood is pretty hard wood.
