I just picked up a Grizzly 2hp dust collector that is wired for 115 or 220 currently it is wired 220. I need to change it temporarily to 115. It has a switch box wired with just black/white and green ground, above the switch is the box containing the wires that that make it 220. I had a grizzly metal lathe with the same kind of setup and I remember I had to move a yellow wire but I don't remember where and this box has a blk with the yellow which I do not remember. If you have one of these or know how to change it to 115 I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks, HR

Is that the G1029 model? If so, here is a link to the manual.

http://images.grizzly.com/grizzlycom/manuals/g1029z_m.pdf

It has a diagram on page 25 with 110 or 220 wiring. The diagram shows black, white, yellow, and red from the motor.

Ditto what Jeremy said!

Go to Griz web site http://www.grizzly.com/ and select product manuals. Find your model number and download the pdf manual. The wiring diagram should be included. The connections may be on the motor.

The wiring schematic should be on the inside of the wire junction box on the motor. Note that the motor will draw ~ 24 amps when wired for 110v.

Jeremy, Larry and Scott thank you, the info you gave was right on, I have rewired it already and you reinforced my memory about moving the yellow was right but I didn't trust my memory till you gave me back up. I can't thank you guys enough, this forum site never ceases to amaze me, the members are like no other forum, woodworking or not that I have ever run into. Thanks again HR

Scott when you answered my call for help I didn't realize how dead on you were. After wiring the DC to use 115 I had it that way for all of two days in which I blew every circuit breaker I had available and I think some of the neighbors also. I went to hardware store bought 20 ft of 12g wire and a plug that uses my dryer receptable and rewired it back to 220, other than the inconvenience of having to plug in when I open the shop it will be fine till I run 220 the eight ft to the shop. Thanks again for all your help. HR

In order to be a bona fide member of Sawmill Creek you must use a real first and last name. Please PM Jackie Outten (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/private.php?do=newpm&u=6) with that information and she will update your registration information accordingly.
