Barry Stratton sent me some goodies which had some pen blanks. I thought the Redheart and Paduak blanks sounded interesting so I put them on the mandrel and did some spinning. I also had just bought a Bocote pen blank so I did 3 pens last night. I also bought some Hut P.P.P. sticks and used them to finish. Every time I make a new pen my wife is quick to claim ownership so I keep making them.

From the top Bocote, Redheart and then Paduak....Thanks Barry!

Look real nice, that looks like the Mont Blanc kit I got from Lee Valley, I really like those kits.

I've been making some pens to take on my trip to Austria, I have to hide them, or they would have the same fate as your pens :D

Cheers!

Great lookin' pens, Steve although, I'm kind of surprised you haven't picked up one of the bright red acrylic blanks, so you could make one to keep in the SS!!! :D Keep it up...Looks like your a natural for this spinny stuff! :D

Great job Steve. My wife seems to do the same thing. Everything that comes off the lathe she claims. I also like that redheart.

Corey I was buying them at Woodcraft for $6.50 a set and I noticed our "local woodworkers hangout" had them for $3.75 so I have been buying them there. (Sorry John M.)

Thanks Steve, the reason I ask is I am trying to determin if they are Berea kits. Any problems with them during assembly? Again, they look great!

Those are some really pretty pens. I like the wood and what you've done with the finish a great deal.
