Box Elder burl fountain pen. The burl has a little bit of bark running through it. Turned it down to size, soaked it with a little thing CA glue, and sanded. Finish with Hut Crystal friction polish.

Beautiful pen Curt. Awesome wood that really matches the kit.

I hate to admit, but I've never used a fountain pen. They sure seem to be popular to make so I'll have to try me one......someday......:D

Curt,
Beautiful pen! Was that burl easy to turn? After finishing, try the Rennisance wax & heat it in over the Crystal coat.It will be like glass.

Very nice pen Curt! I've got to get a setup and try those. I've had a bunch of pen blanks sent to me!

Thanks everyone.

Barry, to be honest, I haven't used one of these fountain pens yet either. The kit comes with a cartridge and an ink pump but I've been afraid to use either for fear of having ink all over the place. I just like the old fashioned look of the fountain pen.

I made my first fountain pen a few weeks ago out of Stu's wood and went ahead and loaded it up. I found it very easy to use. The ink seems a bit thinner than what I'm accustomed, but it flows real nice and has a cool appearance on the paper. Personally, I like it! :)
