Hi Everybody!

This is as clean as my shop will ever get! From here on out, it just gets messier.

I just finished painting the floor yesterday. I put two coats of gray two-part epoxy paint on the floor, waiting about 22 hours between coats. I have to wait at least seven days before moving in any machines. This floor is SO nice!

My Wife took this picture about half way through the first coat. That's me showing my better side! ;-)

Yep! Twelve foot ceiling. I should be able to swing boards around all day without hitting anything (although I might be able to launch something off my lathe . . . ).

Yes, that's one of my first reactions, too! Geat shop space...'can't wait to see it "fully stocked".

The more I see these nice painted floors, the more I'm thinking about it for my own shop. It will be a pain as I'll have to do one half at a time should I ever manage to do it, but it would feel on my anal compulsion to keep a clean shop. Unfortuantely, I haven't been able to do that for the last few months and am looking forward to deep cleaning it when I'm finally done with the kitchen.

Scott, It looks so nice. I remember when I did this but I used a high grade oil based concrete paint. Has held up pretty well but I sure which I had the ambition to put down th two-part epoxy.

Let us see the results after "moving in."

Scott,
Are you sure that that’s not a hospital surgery room? Like Jim mentioned, the more I see these great looking shop floors the more I want to do mine! My biggest problem is that I have 2 machines that require a forklift to safely move. (I’m too chicken to move them on pipe rollers)

Kevin,

MAN!!!!! I get blamed for everything. :D :D :D

Scott,

That's not a clean shop.....that's a EMPTY shop!!!! Good job on the floor. I'm sure you will like it. I sure like mine.

Now.....maybe Terry H. and Scott G. will come down to my shop, show me how to move all my stuff out to a safe holding place, show me how to scrub the floor, apply the epoxy finish and finally how to move it all back in the shop space...!!!!! I wonder just how much it would cost to do 1,200 sq ft of shop floor space? :)

All kidding aside....great job Scott.....I would really like to see what she looks like when you outfit the shop with tools once again.

Scott, that will be one nice place! Sorry that peer pressure forced you into losing all that shop time. But don't feel bad. Terry has done that to many of us. :D

David who would rather be moving everything to paint the floor than to drill for termites.

Now SWMBO comments that if I was patient about the drying time *like Scott was* maybe I wouldn't have that small peel next to the threshold of the walk-in door.
