I drive home past the woodcraft in Palatine every night and about once a month, the parking lot is jam packed. I recently learned that the Chicago Woodturners meet there. As a newbie, I think this might be just the thing I need to join, but I'd like an inside opinion if anyone has one to share.

Rich,

They are having an all day demonstration with Bert Marsh at the Palatine Woodcraft tomorrow. They charge $25.00 for this, but that is cheap. You can meet the club members, and see how you like it. The website is:
http://www.chicagowoodturners.com/demonstrations.htm. I have been wanting to attend one of these, but I have baseball games on the weekends this time of year(umpire).

Happy Turning,
