Well, another weekend has come and gone. Time to share what you did over the weekend.

For me, it was the Central States BBQ in Springdale, AR at the honorable Terry and Cheryl Hatfield's residence and shop. What a blast it was and Terry and I have already started thinking about what we're going to do to make the one next year even better.!!!

BTW, Phil Phelps.....You are one cool and crazy dude.....really was nice to meet you in person and I am grateful to have been able to meet you and your wife and to spend much time talking and sharing experiences together. Thank you for attending.

If you didn't make the BBQ....you really missed a great time.!!!!!

Now....where's my new avatar you were dawgin' me about.....? ;)

Best of weeks.................

I was hangin' out with the Arkies, et al, until Saturday evening, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Driving home Saturday night I got to listen to the Sooners whip the Tide, Ken are you listening? :D

Just lazed yesterday and watched a little football.

Have a great week all,
Bob

Oh yea....I forgot.....

At the BBQ there were all kinds of cools woods brought. Thanks to Mike Mastin and Lee Patz for the great woods. A lot of cool stuff and that Lee Patz for attending and it is always great to see you and Kay again. The Show-N-Tell you brought was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I think I have pics of your items and I hope to get the posted here this week.

Thanks again for the wood and the pen blanks you brought me. :)

I can sum up the weekend in one word... #$^%#!!! :( I only got half of what I planned done due to 1) general lazyness, 2) "groundskeeping" duties that couldn't wait and 3) stupid mistakes (like driving a screw through a drawer front...and discovering I sized the final remaining cabinet door 2" too narrow; how, I haven't a clue!) that caused me to stop "early" on Sunday before the birdies learned some new words. But I did get all the drawer boxes for the kitchen assembled and the false doors and drawer fronts installed on the counter "ell".

SWMBO made a wonderful lemon chicken risoto for dinner Sunday night, however, that calmed the ornery beast...

Hi All

Saturday I mostly obsesed about a platter I have been fussing over for a week+ now. Sunday I introduced 5 to the world of woodturning:

Finish vanity for main bath on the upper level and now the finishing touches to complete bath, I'm glad it's coming to a close. I should add that I've been working on that bath for the last 6 weeks.

Got my certification  so I can buy and install "Gastite" flexible gas line that is running to the garage. Now to get the overhead heater this week and install it this weekend :) .

Then this hunk of wood jumped out & made me turn my first hollow form :D

I cut up a bunch of bowl blanks & I did get one corner of the shop cleaned and organized. However I didn't touch my horizontal junk storage unit (some people call this a table saw I understand) which has stuff piled about 3 feet high on top of it. I need to get this cleared off because I want to make a few keepsake boxes in the next couple of weeks (or months if I stay true to form).

I also cut the grass, went to church, hung out on-line you know the usual - I actually got to watch a little golf on the tube also.

Hey Jim - sorry to hear about your weekend - you're almost there man - don't lose it now - trust me - DAMHIKT. It will get better :)

...finally accomplished meeting a few of the Mid States Crew. ( Texas was represented well. ) Great time had by all. Bit of a drive, but worth every mile of it. Can't say enough good things about the host and hostess. Couldn't have asked for better weather, food, of friends. And, Dennis, the feeling is mutual. Thanks.

When I wasn't at the Central States BBQ I snuck over to Tontitown to join a Charity ride
with the 13 Rebels & the Next of Kin Motorcycle Clubs.
Their clubhouse is in an old chicken house. About 200 riders attended.

Here are some photos from my Ride

My thanks to Dr Zack for improving the look of the Creek by providing better avatars. Some of you guys had mugs shots which would stop a clock before the good Doctor got you decent ones. :D

My weekend was expensive with the LFOD tool auction in Nashua NH emptying my wallet. All Neander tools, so if you guys want to check it out I mentioned the loot on the Neander side. I also got quite a bit of work done on the initial assembly of my new wall rack for my hand planes. Essentially it was an all tools and woodworking 3 day weekend.

Spent most of the weekend laying on the couch not feeling so good. :(

I did manage to get a few pavers layed for the patio, but working in the sun just made me feel worse...take me about 40 minutes to get 4-8 pavers layed and leveled and then in on the couch for an hour or so. YECH....

I did get a hunk of aromatic cedar turned round. Not sure what I will do with it it, but it is now round :)

Oh well, at least you could put a chair in the corner of the patio now :) It should be done just in time for winter.

...and thanks Steve Clardy for the nice thick walunt! I don't have a source around here to leg material without gluing up pieces. All that the turners didn't want made it home with me, and I really appreciate it.

Boy! That was a great time.
